The choice to become a lawyer begins with the choice to go to law school. Without knowing it, many of you have acted in this regard, with every decision you have made in the past year, although unwittingly, has led to this moment. You now see yourself as a bona fide law student of San Beda College Alabang – School of Law. You are probably wondering what this means for you in the days, months, and years to come as you begin your journey and traverse through the many challenges yet rewarding experiences you may face in your legal education.

Let me begin by telling you that the choice you took and your acceptance to belong in our law school community will not be an easy one! You might encounter a professor or two that will tell you that law school in San Beda College Alabang is a walk in the park… the Jurassic Park, that is. While this statement is of course true as you find yourself facing countless assignments and readings—reading more cases than you thought you could handle—with your professors asking you to master and digest them, to the pressure you may encounter when it comes to finding the right pace and time in studying for your classes, we, in The Red Chronicles, can only assure you that there is a pot of gold in this perilous rainbow we call ‘law school’. It will be challenging. It will be difficult at times, but you will prevail. With the strength of arms and a will to persevere, we will all make it, pass our bar exams, and be full-fledged lawyers of San Beda College Alabang – School of Law, for God, and for our country.

You have only yourself to thank for taking the call to become lawyers! Now, you owe it to yourself to realize your dreams of becoming one and giving it your all. Once again, on behalf of The Red Chronicles, we would like to wish you the best of luck this semester!
