[Graduation 2021] A Tribute to TRC Class of 2021

By: Femme Angela Armamento and Robert Jian Melchor

A new chapter is about to begin in the lives of our dear members. As they have successfully hurdled their challenging years in the School of Law, we remember their valuable contributions to The Red Chronicles as well as the happy memories that they left. Surviving law school is difficult enough. To be part of a demanding organization and balance it with the academic rigors is a feat in itself. Hence, through our simple words, we express our heartfelt admiration and gratitude to them.

Marryl Ann Ragpala

Associate Editor (Volume 13)

When she talks, everybody listens. She is the lioness—the den mother of the organization during her tenure. She will not stand behind any man and would rather lead with her exquisite beauty, strength, and intelligence. Nevertheless, no matter how strong and independent she is, a soft side lies within her. She is always genuinely concerned about our well-being. We’ll never forget her thoughtfulness as she always remembers to give the us with sweet, personalized gifts during the holidays. She is a reliable friend and an awesome sounding board. Also, ranting to her about our problems always made us feel good. She will love you unconditionally and protect you at all costs.  She will take care of you as her own. In every difficulty, she thrives, she glows. She’s the sun. Thank you for making us feel appreciated, Marz.

Ceasar Jan Entila

Editor-in-Chief (Volume 12)

As our former Editor-in-chief, he is known to have both an admirable work ethic and an enviable alcohol tolerance. Although he’s tough on the outside, he can definitely be soft and vulnerable on the inside, which makes him all the more relatable. We will miss him for all the samgyup, unli wings, and eat-all-you-can trips we’ve had, where our panulak is always beer and never water.

Under his leadership, many truly felt a sense of fun and belongingness in the group; work became less stressful, deadlines became easier to contend with and  meetings became less of a chore and more of a friendly get-together, and as always, punctuated by food and buckets of beer. Thank you, for all the bonding moments, the stories, the intoxication, and most of all, the friendship.

She’s the quiet girl you’d see in the office with her beautiful long black locks. Dedicated and studious that she is, she has been a constant achiever throughout her law school years. To call her “smart” is an understatement. She’s driven by her goals and life story. But most importantly, she is driven by the love of the people in her life. She works hard like there’s no tomorrow, undaunted by the challenges ahead of her. Graduating as the Salutatorian of Batch 2021, she brings pride to The Red Chronicles. Her ora et labora discipline paid off. As she leaves her legacy as a law student, we can clearly see the bright future ahead of her.

Janna Mae Santotome

Senior Photographer

Janna can be as outgoing and as spontaneous as you can imagine but at the same time manages to laugh coyly because of a funny observation. With just a simple—usually improper—quip, she can elicit cackles of laughter from everybody even if the mood is tense or somber. She is a good friend and drinking buddy. Her post-inuman antics are memories that her friends will always cherish.  Despite this, she remains one of the most industrious law students we ever knew. She is known as someone who is always there with a helping hand to those struggling in their studies, especially during the pandemic. Her admirable focus helped her prevail over the arduous journey of law school.

When she’s in the room, you’d know it’s her. She’s probably the one laughing the hardest and the loudest. More importantly, she’s also the one who’d look after you sincerely when you need a friend. As one of the most talented writers we have, her ideas shine the brightest in a brainstorming group. Sometimes, she tends to forget how beautiful her words are. And if words aren’t enough to tell you how she really feels for you, she will draw you a portrait—thoughtfully and beautifully made. Driven by her advocacies, one can tell that she’s a woman who has something to fight for. Her love is unquestionable. Her beauty is impeccable. And of course, her sarcasm and wit shall be unforgettable.

Mary Evielyn Mateo

News Writer

To a total stranger, there is a veil of mystery always surrounding her. Her gestures are thoughtful, never over the top, and her speech deliberate and measured. She’s neither terribly mundane nor unexciting, but perfectly ordinary. That is, until you meet her. She is in fact one of the cheeriest members of the organization, easily one with the sunniest of dispositions. Other than being a fun person to hang out with, she’s reliable and her work is always a competently written piece with the least amount of needed editing. In terms of academics, she can write one of the most informative yet concise reviewers.

We will always be grateful for the time and effort you have given to the organization. Our bond will not end here as it will always flourish throughout the years to come. We shall always be supportive to all of you! Congratulations and God bless!
