The San Beda College Alabang – School of Law, along with the faculties and administrators, held its Freshmen and Transferees Orientation Program to welcome its freshies and transferees for the Academic Year 2023-2024 last July 31, 2023, at the San Beda College Alabang CAS Multi-Purpose Hall.

The orientation started with a campus tour, giving new students the opportunity to explore the campus and become familiar with the important offices. SBCA-SOL Vice Dean Carlo Busmente gave a warm welcome and shared that a law student must possess the lion mentality, one who welcomes challenges and never gives up. He also introduced the administrators, faculty, and staff of the Dean’s Office.

As the new academic year starts, it is important to know the policies and handbook of the SBCA-SOL. Prefect of Student Affairs, Atty. Eliza Yamamoto – Santos discussed the student handbook, policies, and grading system.

Meanwhile, Dean Ulan Sarmiento III delivered a message to the new Lions of the South. “It is not just our duty to provide excellent quality education but also the duty to inculcate the virtue of humility, as you will become a Bedan lawyer someday,” Sarmiento added.

The history of San Beda College Alabang – School of Law as well as its accomplishments over the years were presented via an AVP. Atty. Jun Cadugo, Administrative Officer of the SBCA-SOL explained the significance of the Robing Ceremony which will be experienced by the freshmen and transferees as an official welcome to the SBCA School of Law. Atty. Cadugo said that the wearing of robes serves as a way of showing oneness among the students and faculties, stressing the solemnity and significance of each ceremony.

Recognized school organizations and commissions presented their respective highlights of services via an AVP and encouraged new students to join. Different booths were also set up in front of the CAS MPH. To give a glimpse of how law school works, Atty. John Jacome and Atty. Paulino Ungos III conducted class simulations during the program.

The Freshmen and Transferees Orientation Program was made possible by the FTOP 2023 Ad Hoc Committee, led by Ms. Kate Capulong. This is the first and only time that the FTOP has been organized by an Ad Hoc Committee. Traditionally, it is organized by the SBCA School of Law Government, however, at the time of the conduct of the said event, there were no incumbent SLG officers yet.

It would be impossible to pull off such a successful event without the following volunteers, who dedicated their time and effort: Kate Capulong, Adrian Macasaquit, Aidan Fajardo, Aily Liezel Mabanglo, Ainah Lanto, Alexandrea Cornejo, Angela Consignado, Angela Sevilla, Athena Uy Gaddi, Bea Dimailig, Bryan Arevalo, Camille Teodoro, Claudia Tuano, Dante Castillo, Eduardo Vinuya, Edward Santillan, Elaiza Usisa, Felice Hernandez, Gabriel Pallasigue, Rozie Mateo, Gizelle Diaz, Hannah Morales, Ivan Ashley Salle, Ja Cababan, James Samuel Carreon, Jannah Odtuhan, JG Jugo, Joanne Benitez, John Michael Gabriel Genova, Joseph Fredrick Millado, Joseph Matienzo, Joses Tan, Joshua Fortuno, Joyce Abadejos, Juris Le Compte, Justin Pascual, Kathe Labayo, Ken Kubaron, Kim Palencia, Klent Menil, Luigi Santos, Luis Noval, Mae Heloise Lisaca, Mary Baloja, Migern Estabillo, Miguel Vivero, Mikhaela Mayuga, Nadiah Frias, Nikki Tuble, Patricia Nicole Uy, Paty Kaye Boncayao, Quim Ranchez, Rex Regio, Rommel Saludez, Sage Lingatong, Sam Alvarez, Sam Cruz, Therine Navarro, Verge Tablizo, Virna Silva, Ynat Moldez, Zam Alcazar, Zy Navela, Erick David Paz, Justine Juridico, Danielle Dela Cruz, Hanz Millaflor.
