The Bedan Pride

By Alyanna Joyce S. Abadejos | The Red Chronicles

When you were young, you had your dreams. Perhaps through time, such dreams have changed, or maybe they’ve remained the same from the moment your mind could make sense of what dreams truly meant for you.

But by being in law school and choosing to stay in it, your dream is no longer yours alone. It’s now a shared ambition with your own kind, your Bedan family. There’s a kindred spirit in how each of us is a lion in one pride, reaching for the very same star.

As the Bar Examinations come to a close, so does your time to capitalize on years of earnest efforts and diligent labor. From sleepless nights to endless feelings of gut-wrenching anxiety, the bar exams tested the strength of your grit.

The Red Chronicles, as a publication organization, knew no better way to honor our school’s barristers than to form this special issue in respect of your journey almost reaching its peak. Our writers, photographers, logistics team, and everyone else in the organization wholeheartedly sought to complete the publication for that very reason.

And it’s not just from The Red Chronicles.

Volunteers from student organizations, donors from various sectors, and faculty members from San Beda College-Alabang have also contributed much of their precious time. The essence of this year’s issue highlights not just the plight of bartakers but also that of those who never cease to support them.

The fact of the matter is that you are not alone.

The whole community of San Beda College Alabang will rise each year to answer the clarion call. No matter the odds, each Bedan wants nothing more than to see his or her fellowmen succeed in overcoming the infamous test.

A lion alone is strong, but together, the lions become a pride.
