The Supreme Court designated San Beda College Alabang as the National Headquarters and one of the local testing centers for the 2024 Bar Examinations which were held last September 8, 11, and 15, 2024.

#BarNiJLo2024, as it is tagged, had six core subjects, distributed equally throughout the three days, with one subject in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Chronologically, September 8 covered Political and Public International Law (15%) in the morning and Commercial and Taxation Laws (20%) in the afternoon, whereas September 11 covered Civil Law (20%) then Labor Law and Social Legislations (10%); and finally September 15 ended with Criminal Law (10%) and Remedial Law, Legal and Judicial Ethics with Practical Exercises (25%).

Bar Bulletin No. 1 of the Supreme Court advised the bar candidates that “only laws, rules, issuances, and jurisprudence pertinent to the topics of the 2024 Bar syllabus as of June 30, 2023 are within the coverage of the 2024 Bar Examinations.”

Following the trend of recent years, the examination continued to be digitized, with Examplify serving as the computer program that administered the test. Bar takers are instructed to use personal laptops that are compatible with the software.

With a total of 12,246 processed applications, the Court accommodated aspiring lawyers by establishing 13 local testing centers nationwide, stating in Bar Bulletin No. 3-B that there will be six (6) in NCR: University of the Philippines-Diliman, University of Santo Tomas, San Beda University, Manila Adventist College, University of the Philippines Bonifacio Global City, and San Beda College Alabang; two (2) in Luzon: Saint Louis University and University of Nueva Caceres; three (3) in Visayas: University of San Jose-Recoletos, Central Philippine University, and Dr. V. Orestes Romualdez Educational Foundation; and two (2) in Mindanao: Xavier University and Ateneo de Davao University.

SBCA School of Law ramped up its preparation to support Bedan bar examinees with the Centralized Bar Operations organizing the Bar Lecture Series, curating bar kits, releasing annual CARE reviewers, and ensuring that every Bedan bar taker has the support they need to achieve the title they are working hard to achieve.
